2. Light from Within II: Deep Dimensions

Light from Within II – Deep Dimensions imagines the moment when consciousness approaches the boundary between life and death. At the center of an immense darkness stands a doorway filled with light—an architectural threshold leading from familiar physical reality into an unknown dimension, an imagined world beyond death.

Around it, fragmented geometric and architectural forms float without conventional gravity, scale, or orientation. Their dislocation suggests a reality whose spatial laws no longer correspond to ordinary human perception. The doorway therefore operates across several interconnected systems of thought. Metaphysically, it represents passage beyond physical existence. Mathematically, it evokes the transition from the familiar realm of real numbers into imaginary and complex numbers—an expanded domain inaccessible within the real-number line alone. In physics, the work draws conceptually from interpretations of quantum information and the possibility that reality extends beyond directly observable matter and space.

These ideas are not proposed as scientific proof of an afterlife, but as interconnected languages for approaching the unknowable. Architecture gives the threshold spatial form; mathematics and physics expand its possible dimensions; and light transforms it into an experiential passage between the visible and invisible, consciousness and the unknown.
