4. A Storm

Jan. 2020, Oil on Canvas, 36 by 48 inches

It depicts a contradiction between desire and prohibitions. Our identities and consciousness should be viewed as mechanisms that align with the law of nature, rather than as predetermined tools with which people are labeled arbitrarily. Everything will fade away before the power of nature, no matter how great it was. There’s a storm on the horizon of the vast ocean, with the calling of fate at a distance. The original inspiration was driven by the story of “Wuthering Heights, 1992”, in which the striking contradiction between desire and fate was magnified and rendered through a detailed focal point of spacetime and nature.
